Interviu cu Ama - engleză
"Sad news came from the Romanian camp when Amelia Racea, member of the national team, decided to retire last year. TCG caught up with her recently, talking about her decision to retire and her future plans. In this article, Romanian writer Bea Gheorghisor remembers Racea’s career and chats to the former European medalist.

Amelia Racea’s story in the first echelons of the sport began as a junior, in 2008, when she was selected to represent Romania at the European Championships held in Clermont-Ferrand. Despite her limited previous international experience, she managed a good competition and won two medals: a silver on beam, a bronze on floor along with an honorable fourth place in the all around final.

Over the following year she would start to distinguish herself – together with team mate Ana Porgras, as a future pillar of the Romanian team. The opinions on which of the two would become the star were split: both had been noticed for their elegance, cleanliness of execution, good basics and flexibility. Racea, however, seemed to have the edge in two important areas: mental toughness, and superior all around chances with the lack of a weak event.

In 2009 Amelia started to receive an increasing number of international assignments. One such opportunity was the American Cup, where she placed fifth with Jordyn Wieber taking the title. This was followed by the Jesolo Trophy and the Lugano Trophy; Amelia ended up winning gold medals in the all around on both occasions." ... citiți aici întregul articol scris de Bea pentru TCG.
